About
Many Detroit neighborhoods lack essential resources we often take for granted—access to healthy food and beverages, and personal and home goods. Rather than focus on the problem, I focused on a solution, called Kornr Store, a modern take on the classic neighborhood "corner store" many of us grew up with, where people can walk to, catch up with neighbors, and leave with a sense of community.
Above all, we aim to provide an inclusive, positive space for residents, seniors, and visitors. Nearby Detroit landmarks include the Motown Museum, Henry Ford Hospital and Lee Plaza. Minutes from New Center, Russell Woods/ Nardin Park, NorthEnd, Midtown, and Downtown.

When I first stood on the corner of 16th and Ferry Park Street,
—I saw possibilities. Rehabbing a 100-year-old corner store in Detroit’s NW Goldberg neighborhood has been a journey of purpose, faith, and resilience. I wanted to create a neighborhood market —with access to healthy foods, a community hub, and a place where people feel welcome. In the three years of developing and now operating Kornr Store, every setback, delay, and unexpected cost became the setup for new pathways to success. This store stands not just as a business, but as a response to Detroit’s food desert, a catalyst for small-scale neighborhood development, and a place for good coffee, good food, and good vibes.
